About the Artist 

Amanda Lynne Dominguez,  goes by the artist name Amanda Lynne, is an accomplished artist and art instructor. She has been painting since she was in first grade and teaching for 2 years.  Her adventures in art began learning pastels from Betsy Miller.  There she became an apprentice and taught beside Betsy for three years.  She now teaches art classes

 the way she learned from her mentor.  Her goal for her students is to allow them express their creativity and express themselves and their world through art. Amanda specializes in oils and pastels and teaches pastels to children and adults.

Growing up, Amanda became very involved in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art and won numerous awards; such as, four best of shows and a scholarship.  Her scholarship allowed her to work with two very accomplished Texas artist, Jay Hester and Garland Weeks. Today, the rodeo competition has influenced her love for western and texas culture.  

After high school, Amanda graduated from Texas A&M University in 2007 with a degree in Animal Science. She continues her education as getting her Bachelor Science in Nursing.  She hopes to change the world through her artwork and through care as a nurse.


She currently teaches children's pastel art classes in the Bryan- College Station area.  She has been teaching at A&M United Methodist since her and her family moved back here in 2010.
